Starknet Provisions Program – How to Secure Your Free STRK 1

The Starknet Foundation has exciting news—it’s kicking off the first round of the Starknet Provisions Program. This initiative will distribute Starknet Token (STRK) to the community, recognizing contributions that have helped shape the Starknet ecosystem and beyond. If you’re part of this dynamic community, here’s everything you need to know about the program, from eligibility to claiming your tokens.

What is the Starknet Provisions Program?

Think of the Provisions Program as a way to thank the Starknet community for its dedication. The first round of the program will distribute more than 700 million STRK tokens to almost 1.3 million addresses. This is part of the 900 million STRK allocated for Provisions out of a larger token pool dedicated to the community.

STRK plays a critical role in the Starknet network, including functions like paying fees, staking, and participating in governance decisions that shape the protocol’s future.

But what truly sets this round apart? Starknet will become the first Layer 2 network to cover gas fees for all token claims made through its official Provisions portal.

Eligibility and Timeline

To ensure fairness, the Provisions Program targets contributors who have supported Starknet’s growth or enhanced its ecosystem. The tokens will be available to claim starting 12 PM (UTC) on February 20th, 2024, through the Provisions portal at provisions.starknet.io. The claim period will remain open until June 20th, 2024.

Here’s what you’ll need to check eligibility and claim your tokens:

• A Starknet wallet with the latest version installed.
• Use the official Provisions portal link to avoid scams.
• Don’t worry about gas fees! These will be covered by the Starknet Foundation.

Who Can Claim STRK?

The Starknet Foundation has gone to great lengths to verify contributors in a wide variety of roles. Eligible groups include, but aren’t limited to:

1. Starknet Contributors and Early Users

• Starknet Users who made more than five transactions, stayed active for at least three months, and held a minimum balance of ETH by November 15, 2023.
• Community Members who organized events, contributed code, or expanded Starknet’s ecosystem.
• Developers who made valuable contributions to Starknet’s GitHub repositories.

2. Ethereum Contributors

Since Starknet relies on Ethereum’s security, individuals who contributed to Ethereum’s development will also be rewarded. This includes:

• Members of the Ethereum Protocol Guild.
• Ethereum Developers with commits to major repositories.
• Authors of Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs).

3. Ethereum Stakers

ETH stakers who actively secured Ethereum through the proof-of-stake model are recognized as essential contributors. Solo stakers, pooled stakers, and unlabeled custodial stakers are all eligible within specific conditions.

4. Open-Source Developers

Developers who contributed to major non-blockchain open-source projects are also eligible, reflecting the importance of reusable open-source tools in building Starknet and Ethereum solutions.

How to Claim Your STRK Tokens

Claiming your STRK is straightforward, but here are the key steps you shouldn’t miss:

1. Check Eligibility
   Head to the Provisions portal (provisions.starknet.io) to see if you qualify.

2. Prepare Your Tools
   Ensure you have an updated Starknet wallet. Without it, you won’t be able to claim your tokens.

3. Claim and Relax
   Once the Provisions Program launches (Feb 20, 2024), use the portal to claim your tokens. Remember, the gas fees for this process are fully covered!

Note: Due to regulatory restrictions, certain individuals, including those in sanctioned countries or U.S. Persons, cannot participate in the program. Consult the terms on the portal for more details.
